5 Beauty Products to Get Your Hands On While in the UK

I was recently in London, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on a list of products that friends, family and the online beauty community have been raving about.

1. Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Makeup artists rave about this bronzer. I picked it up in shade 51 and liked it so much that I picked up a second one in shade 52 for the summer when my skin is darker. It goes on very even... not patchy, orange or muddy like some drugstore bronzers do. Let me know in the comments below if you'd like me to do a color comparison between shades 51 and 52.

Why? It is a fantastic and inexpensive matte bronzer. It is packaged to look like chocolate and smells like sugar!

2. Bioderma Crealine H2O Micelle Solution 500ml

I have been using this product for about year now and love it. Although I could only find this product, or skincare line for that matter, in other parts of the EU while I was there, it was supposed to hit UK stores earlier this month. If you're from the UK, have you seen Bioderma at any stores yet?

Why? This gentle yet effective cleansing cleansing water works as a toner and makeup remover for all skin types. It is supposed to be cheaper and easier to get your hands on in the EU. It is possible to get your hands on this through Amazon, but the price is significantly jacked up likely due to import fees.

3. Yves Saint Laurent Le Touche Éclat Illuminating Foundation

When the Chanel salesman told me a few years ago that my first and all-time favorite liquid foundation CHANEL TEINT INNOCENCE Naturally Luminous Fluid Makeup -- which was light and dewy and perfect -- was set to be discontinued, this girl was not a happy camper. (And no... the compact wasn't an acceptable alternative because it's not even close to the original. It's not even a liquid!) I've searched for years to find a suitable replacement, and I am happy to announce that this foundation has filled that void. It might even be better!

Why? Although you can pick up this new foundation in the US, it is equivalent to $10 USD cheaper than what it is sold for in the US!

4. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

For reasons I cannot understand, you cannot get this stuff in the Rimmel section at your drugstore or local ULTA. I didn't pick it up while I was in the UK because I had just purchased my YSL foundation and couldn't justify buying another foundation, but now, I am kicking myself for it. It's supposed to have an amazing dewy finish. If you want to get it in the US you'll have to get it online on ASOS, Amazon, or the like.

Why? Everyone raves about this foundation, and it is supposed to be an amazing dupe for YSL's Le Touche Éclat Illuminating Foundation (see above).

5. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

I have had my all-time favorite Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler for at least seven years now. Needless to say, I was devastated when my all-time favorite eyelash curler's make-up line announced that it would no longer be sold at stores in the US a few years back. On top of that, the curler only comes with two pads, and Shu Uemera does not sell replacement pads. This product is so amazing, though, it's worth repurchasing once the rubber pads are split.

Why? There's something about this curler's make that gives eyelashes the perfect curl. Shu Uemera is no longer being sold at stores in the US; however, you can pick it up on the Shu Uemera USA online store.

I didn't purchase everything on my list because either I decided against purchasing once testing in the store -- yes, drugstores in the UK have beauty testers -- or I couldn't find items. Also, some products are amazing, but they did not work for my skin tone or type. For example, the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer is well worth the hype, but the three shades are for people with pink undertones. I have yellow undertones, and the product would probably be too thick for under my eyes - the only place where I could actually use pink tinged concealer.
